We are currently Wednesday, May 27th, in the midst of a covid-19 pandemic. I am going to tell you what I miss the most.
Our life changed and we are learning to live differently. I miss my old life, the life where I was more free. I miss the time we could go out without worrying about our health, the time we were physically more free.
May be the coronavirus is still there, or maybe not. I don’t know how is your life but I want to tell you that you must enjoy all the moments with your family or with your friends.
Ohhh, I almost forgot … never give up on your dreams!
Since the confinement is over, we can see outside a lot of people. People without mask or any other protection. The end of lockdown caused a feeling of liberty but we can’t think like this. Indeed, the virus is here, the virus is everywhere around us.
I understand that staying at home is complicated especially now with the good weather. However, we need to measure the consequences of our actions, we need to understand that go out every day can harm us, harm others, the most fragile. We can’t be selfish!
While waiting for a vaccine, we have to be strong and stay optimist.
Yesterday was the first day of reopening. People were able to go back to work or go outside without certificate… This is a good thing for the French economy.
However, this might become a problem in terms of safety and public health. Indeed, with more circulation, the virus can spread more easily. That’s why people need to be protected by masks and adapt barrier gestures such as hand washing.
But some rules are not respected like safety distance. For example, during the rush hour, in public transports, there is a lot of people who are next to each other.
Furthermore, I saw, yesterday, friends’ group outside, without masks and I think it’s too early to do that.
These attitudes can cause a second wave and we will have to be confined again.
So, I think that we need to stay home a little more to be sure that going outside is safe for our health, for the others, and to prevent hospitals from being overcrowded.
This quarantine has changed my daily life. Indeed, we had to change our routine to make our days productive.
The morning, I wake up between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. I take my breakfast: fruits and cookies or milk with cereals. After, I start to do my homework.
Then, I prepare my lunch, something healthy to stay fit. I clean the kitchen and I go back to work until 5 p.m.
After that, during one hour, I work out to change my mind and to forget during one time this coronavirus. It makes me feel better and more appeased. I take a shower, I put my pajama and I eat some almonds. After, I stay with my parents, we discuss about the news or something else. Sometimes we do a yoga session.
We go to prepare the dinner, we eat and after the coolest moment arrives: I watch a movie, or a series. I love that!
We have been in quarantine for 5 weeks… It’s hard but we need to stay strong physically and psychologically. Indeed, as long as there are no vaccines, drugs, our life will not be the same as before.
Summer is coming and we have to say goodbye to festivals, concerts… Maybe even to the beach, to pool parties at friends houses… I just turned 18 and I thought summer 2020 was going to be one of the best summers of my life … I was wrong 🙁
Never make plans, live day by day, it is my new philosophy!!!
We must protect ourselves and others, so I understand that this measures are essential.
What is the influence of fake news in times like these?
Coronavirus is, as you know, a pandemic who left a lot of people in quarantine and since one month, we received many information, sometimes false.
A fake new is a misleading information to manipulate or deceive someone.
In fact, in this historic period, we see past fake news about Coronavirus or about other things related to this virus.
5 fake news:
Packages from China can carry the Coronavirus.
the US has a role to play in the spread of the coronavirus in China.
5G has spread the virus.
Holding your breath lets you know if you are infected.
Air pollution has gone down.
With the social media, sharing information is easier and quick. We need to be attentive and check the real information which come from official websites or newspapers.
This week, as the others, I stayed at home with my parents. I think that this period allows us to be more complicit. Indeed, we do sport, we cook together… However, I also understand that a lot of people don’t respect the containment: they go outside all the time and that will only extend this period since there will be more contaminated cases.
But to be honest, spending this time at home is difficult. Even if I do sports and do some activities, I know I can’t go oustide where I want nor when I want. Therefore, we have less freedom and that is the hardest part.
So, I will give you some tips to help you during your quarantine :
Have toilet paper ( very hard to find right now)
How to protect ourselves during the quarantine ?
Take some Vitamin D to strengthen your immune system (Beatriz mom’s advice)
When I was a child, I thought that when I would be 18 years old, I will do a lot of things such as go out every day, see my friends and enjoy life…
Now, we are in 2020, I am 18 years old and because of Coronavirus, we are in Quarantine: French people need to stay at home to stop the progression of virus.
I have been at home for one week with my parents. I do my homework, I speak with my friends and my family, and we do some sports to expel bad energies from our bodies. But my daily life changed: Even if I see my relatives via video call, I miss the real human contact.
I think that some people don’t really realize the danger and the consequences of this virus. Indeed, in the TV news we see a lot of people outside. I understand that for some people this situation is very complicated, however we need to stop de propagation of the Coronavirus, and help doctors, nurses…
This affects me profoundly because the caregivers are desperate. Indeed, I have a nurse’s cousin and she told me that at the hospital the environment changed. For example, one time, a patient came with a mask and when he started to speak to her, he removed it! That reflects why some people don’t know why they use it, and that show us the impact of the virus in people’s brain.

Honestly, wearing a mask and keeping your distance around other people are very small sacrifices. UGH!!!
