Containment : the good & the bad

It will soon be 2 weeks since the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron took the floor to announce “measures to stop the virus”. Even if he didn’t say the word “confinement”, stress has risen in people’s brains, and animal instinct has been awakened in many people. People rushed to buy everything and anything, for fear of a shortage …

However, other people must not have understood the word “confinement” and went on their best pilgrimage throughout the city. And it’s in the following video that you will be able to observe French stupidity, because the other countries are more disciplined (we are the laughingstock of the world).

On the other hand, there are good things generated by confinement, above all, in relation to nature which is taking back its rights. Pollution has never been measured so low in 40 years! There are even dolphins that came to Venise near people, in a clear water, like a lagoon.

In addition, the weather is improving day by day, a few days ago, it was 20 degrees !! But we are not allowed to go out ;(

About school, I have the impression that we have more homework than if we had school normally, but it’s ok I still work enough. I heard about online class conference, but we haven’t had one yet, and I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but I think it will be funnier than serious…

🤪🤪🤪

New challenges were created, & they are posted on social medias every day, like the FlipTheSwitch challenge, juggling with toilet paper, or posting pictures of yourself when you were young.

To conclude, stay at home confined, respect “les gestes barrières” and applaud at 8 pm the caregivers who fight for us. Thanks to those who read and comment on this post 😁.

I’m sorry if it’s in French.

Daily life during quarantine

We’ve been quarantined for more than a week now. Time doesn’t really go fast when you are locked in for an indefinite time. I spite of my, trying to desperately keep a regular timetable, there are times when i do not do anything. Since we are not going to school anymore, I try to study as much as i can even if it’s kind of hard and boring. In order to fill this lack of knowledge owed to the closure of schools, I often read books in French, English, or even Spanish not to lose my laguage level.

Examples of books

I spend half of my time on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.

I’m currently watching for the second time The Mentalist which is my favourite tv show, I strongly recommend you to watch it !

The other half of my time is dedicated to video games and to the piano. Indeed, these are the two things that are helping me to relax and to stay pshycologically sane. It kills the time and it’s a way to be creative.

I’m not really stressed about what is happening. I’m sure that things will be better. I’m kind of optimistic. I may be nervous about next year, or about the bac, but the goverment will figure it out, they’ll find a solution. I stay informed about what is happening thanks to youtube channels which are posting daily reviews of what is going on in our country and around the world, or news channels.

I haven’t been out of my home for days, I’m not longer couting the days. At the begining, In my opinion nobody was realizing and aware of what was happening. We were even happy and excited about not going to school. On the contrary, now, we all want to go out, and therefor, I’m sure that we are all looking forward to go back to school.

Asli’s annoying confinement.

We’ve now been confined for several days and I’m really over it. I know that this is necessary in order to reduce the rate of contaminated people in France but it is really complicated for me not to go outside, to see my friends and especially to enjoy the good weather.I think that like everybody I don’t do extremely interesting things I go to bed very late and get up very late then I eat I do my homework I watch a show and really if I get bored I do sports.

Being confined is really atrocious because for example our working method has completely changed I feel overwhelmed with work we have all the time a lot of things to do it requires a lot of responsibility but I do it because I don’t want to be late. The positive point is that I enjoy it a lot with my family, we play a lot of board games together and it’s a very pleasant atmosphere because we laugh and have fun.

It gives me great pleasure to hear the applause at 8 p.m. It shows us that even in a very difficult time to survive, that is to say locked in the house, we unite to please the workers like the doctors or those who work in the supermarkets who fight for us and that is why we must stay at home because if they take the risk of leaving their house in the middle of a virus, it is for the good of the people.

Maxima’s diary

We’ve been quarantine for now 9 days, because of the corona crisis. People react differently through the situation, some respect the rules and stay at home, others behave irresponsibly and keep going out for no good reason. In my opinion people who don’t respect the confinement haven’t yet realize how serious the situation is, because no reasonable person will keep going out wandering in the street during such a time. Staying home is a sacrifice will should all do, for our health, for our families and especially for the doctors and nurses, they already have a lot of cases which are difficult to handle we shouldn’t be another load for the health care system. During this period I keep myself occupied, I study, read books ( I’m now reading La vie devant soi of Romain Gary), I watch my series and movies, I listen to music. I also do my makeup and take pictures, if I get a good camera I will soon launch a YouTube channel. The confinement isn’t really a big issue for me because I am used to staying at home but I can understand it isn’t everyone’s case. I couldn’t stay without posting a picture 🤣

bisous bisous la famille

COVID-19

I am not afraid of the virus personally. But my grandfather already has breathing assistance so I worry much more about him. Also, we do the shopping for my grandparents in order that he doesn’t take any risks.

Regarding my father, actually in Brazil, he has asthma and he works in the maintenance of hospitals so he can’t stop working and go back to France. I am worried because Brazil has not yet implemented total containment and the quality of health services is different from France.

I got used to this new life: I force myself to keep a good rhythm of life with an alarm clock in the morning, fixed schedules for balanced meals and practicing sports. I am lucky to have a garden so I can get some fresh air while respecting containment.
This epidemic and this confinement made possible, on the one hand, to bring out the human side of society with all these solidarity actions, but also to see the consequences of government decisions by reducing health budgets.

Tenth day of containment

Hey, everybody!
Today is Wednesday, March 25th, the tenth day of “containment”.
We’ve been limiting our movements for over a week now, we’ve been trying to be careful but sometimes I go outside to get some fresh air to get some exercise.

Sometimes I get bored even if there is work to do (I find it hard to keep up with the work)…

My mother has decided to put us in the kitchen to do something with our days.
Everybody cooks at least once a week, for example Monday it’s mom, Tuesday it’s dad, Wednesday it’s me, Thursday my brother and Friday my sister and so on…

Ps: I just learned that a case of Covid-19 has been confirmed in the building where I live…

I’ll probably tell you more in the next post.

Hand washing:

Image result for coronavirus meme hand washing

Since the coronavirus caused containment measures in some countries, people have become a little more hygienic.
However, what makes me laugh is that normally it is reflexes that we should have all the time and not necessarily in times of “war against the invisible” as our President Emmanuelle Macron would say.

This is how I wanted to say that washing our hands is not just in the event of a pandemic, but it must be in our daily lives and these reflexes must be passed on from generation to generation.

I say this because we touch a lot of objects that have a lot of microbes, see also excrement particles (and yes!), for example on our mobile phones ( https://www.ouest-france.fr/leditiondusoir/data/82922/reader/reader.html#!preferred/1/package/82922/pub/117240/page/15 ), a gadget that is super present in the life of a lot of people, in short it’s the same principle as with the virus, it’s to avoid transmitting them, it’s like when you shake hands with someone after going to the (toilet), it’s better to wash your hands before ;).

So if you want to know a little more about how to wash your hands I put several videos so that you can progress.

Corona and Laetitia’s Life

FIRST WEEK

I’m not at all used to this situation. Indeed, I lose track of time and it is difficult not to be able to go outside freely. The good news is that I spend a lot of time with my two little brothers, I cook and sleep better.

In reality, I went outside twice to go work out and I had the chance to run at the Bois de Boulogne with no one around and the landscape was beautiful.

I take care more of Augustin (my little brother who is 4 months old) since confinement. I try to make him smile !! ☺

Little Bro

Finally I taught my other little brother who is 15 years old how to make cookies. This activity allowed him to get away from his video games for a while.

Concerning the coronavirus, I listened to the interview of the infectiologist Didier Raoult who recommends a treatment based on hydroxychloroquine. His approach has been criticized but ultimately a study, on a larger scale, is currently being set up. We are waiting for the results!

Quarantine times

When I was a child, I thought that when I would be 18 years old, I will do a lot of things such as go out every day, see my friends and enjoy life…

Now, we are in 2020, I am 18 years old and because of Coronavirus, we are in Quarantine: French people need to stay at home to stop the progression of virus.

I have been at home for one week with my parents. I do my homework, I speak with my friends and my family, and we do some sports to expel bad energies from our bodies. But my daily life changed: Even if I see my relatives via video call, I miss the real human contact.

I think that some people don’t really realize the danger and the consequences of this virus. Indeed, in the TV news we see a lot of people outside. I understand that for some people this situation is very complicated, however we need to stop de propagation of the Coronavirus, and help doctors, nurses…

This affects me profoundly because the caregivers are desperate. Indeed, I have a nurse’s cousin and she told me that at the hospital the environment changed. For example, one time, a patient came with a mask and when he started to speak to her, he removed it! That reflects why some people don’t know why they use it, and that show us the impact of the virus in people’s brain.

“Stay at home”

See you next week!!!

Coronavirus, cultus charta et natura (prima sabbati)

At the first moment we knew about the “confinement”, it didn’t seemed to me that it was so bad (I thought it was something cool because it would make us vacation), I was completely mistaken.

Firstly, I realized that I like to get fresh air everyday (weeven if today we can still do sport outings, we have limited distances and we feel watched, maybe because I live next to a police station), moreover, we are not at all on vacation, I feel that I’m getting sedentary classes. I dedicate as much time as possible to the lessons, but it is true that it’s very easy to be disturbed and deconcentrated. In any case, I would not be the most affected since I am used to work at home, so I do not do so badly, I have a lot of things to do at home and I try not to waste too much time (even if I end up playing on my computer 3 hours straight).

I think that the containment policy has revealed human’s true nature… When I go out for a walk, I see far too many people wearing masks, something that is useless for defending oneself from the coronavirus (unless for hospital or supermarket workers who meet thousands of people everyday), I mean, I don’t care what other people do, but right now, thousands of hospitals are in mask shortage, the places that need them most… But human selfishness does not stop there, sometimes I come across people who buy liters and liters of alcohol, and leave the farmacies empty, the same with toilet paper! (why ?).

My esteem for society has gone down again. On the other side I gained hope compared to the planet, we saw recently that nature returns everywhere in the world (We see more and more animals in the cities , CO2 emission rate drops enormously). This showed us that, in only a week, we could make progress if we put it all… obviously I hope the coronavirus will stop soon, but imagine how the world would be after a year. It is in these moments that we realize how much mankind harmed the planet 🌏.

Good point about people using masks!! How are you going to justify walking the dog in a mask?? Maybe the worst part is people wearing rubber gloves but then just taking them off and leaving them in the street??? WHY?! Makes me think that humans are the true pests!
